An architect’s eye for the land.

Clive Douglas was born in Auckland and came to Melbourne in 1975 to study Interior Design and Architecture at RMIT. He ran his own architecture practice on the Mornington Peninsula for thirty years, and since 2020 has painted full time.

He builds each landscape from thin, translucent layers of oil, and sets his small works in white board as “a window to look through”.

  • Six first prizes at Victorian art shows, 1985 to 1989
  • Studied oil painting under Maxwell Wilks at the Victorian Artists Society
  • Exhibited at Brunswick Street Gallery, Lander-Sea, Vida Gallery and Lon Resort
